Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a form of relatively affordable and noninvasive fertility treatment compared to costly and invasive fertility treatment options such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF). In most infertility cases, couples may initiate with IUI before they are recommended to try IVF if needed. Intrauterine Insemination may be the only infertility treatment that some couples require to achieve pregnancy and parenthood.
Intrauterine Insemination is the preferred option for couples who are diagnosed with unexplained infertility, low sperm count, complications of the cervix or cervical mucus, reduced sperm motility, same-sex couples wishing to conceive, mild endometriosis, a single woman wishing to conceive, and a couple who wants to avoid passing on a genetic defect from the male partner to the unborn baby.
